Le Chiaje is the guest cottage of a large property, situated in a seafront estate, descending through native vegetation, lemon groves and vineyards to Marina della Lobra, the ancient little fishing village of Massa Lubrense, with an ambience reminding of the Italian the movie “Il Postino”.

DescriptionThe views from this property are wonderful: they encompass Mount Vesuvius and the whole Bay of Naples with the Islands of Ischia and Procida. Capri beckons from behind the port, to complete a gorgeous picture of the Gulf. Le Chiaie offers accommodation for four in a bright, beach holiday cottage furnished in a simple marine fashion, with a couple of nice period pieces. The uniqueness of this seafront property is in the location and the ample outdoor spaces: a gravelled terrace with lemon and some small palm trees immediately outside the house is perfect for sunbaking and outdoor meals; the paved terrace further down, with an outdoor shower, is the ideal setting for sunset cocktails, while another panoramic terrace with a garden bench, at some distance from the house, is a favourite reading spot… Immersed in the sound of the sea, it offers peace and tranquillity, but within a short walking distance is Marina della Lobra, where there are three restaurants, a wine and cocktail bar, a small grocery shop and boat hire to reach privately Capri and Positano. There is no sandy beach, but a natural pool enclosure between a jetty (not used by boats) and flat rocks: sun bed hire is also available. Refundable security deposit A refundable security deposit of € 250.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras. Additional services and charges - payable locally on arrival (in Euros):- Mandatory cleaning fees: € 100.00 per week including 2 hours of maid service twice weekly, final cleaning on Saturdays and on departure;
- One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €6.00 per change per person;
- Late arrival fees – we will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager.

Postcard views of Sorrento often concentrate on the impressive cliffs of volcanic rock (tufa) that run down along the coast in this area and plunge perilously into the sea. Sant'Agata sui due Golfi enjoys an enviable position on a hill between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. It is the largest village in the Sorrento Peninsula and boasts a few Michelin starred restaurants (Don Alfonso - Taverna del Capitano) and many other fine restaurants and trattorias in the vicinity. Being half way between Sorrento and Positano, it is a very convenient base from which to explore both the Amalfi and Sorrento Coasts.> more
