The town seems out of a fairytale: tiny streets, paved with shiny white stone and lined by lime washed houses, creates a great contrast against the blue sky and the intense colour of bright geraniums adorning almost every balcony. DescriptionThe white washed hilltown of Locorotondo, in the middle of Valle d'Itria, has been described as the most beautiful balcony in Murgia dei Trulli and in March 2001 joined the Club of 'The Most Beautiful Villages In Italy'. The pedestrian only 'centro storico' on the top of the hill is relatively flat and white polished limestone streets wind their way around the characteristic 'cummerse' houses - small town houses with strongly pitched roofs. Set in the heart of the Itria Valley, Locorotondo is a wonderful base to explore the many delights of the region. At easy excursion distance are the delights of Alberobello (10 km), Martina Franca (10 km), Cisternino (12 km), Ceglie Messapica (15 km), the beaches of the Adriatic sea (20 km) and many more
