Ravello, located on a hilltop high above Amalfi, has forever left a special impression on travellers who visit there. Seeming as though it is a town and a garden at the same time, it provides endless numbers of amazing views along the Amalfi coast and a relaxed village atmosphere to accompany the beautiful gardens and grounds of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo.
About RavelloRavello was founded by the Roman aristocracy, and soon became a very wealthy and powerful town between the 10th and 13th centuries. Ravello, like Amalfi, owed its prosperity to extensive commerce throughout the Mediterranean, and to its strong textile industry (wool and cotton). The wonderful sunny climate and great views have charmed the likes of Wagner, DH Lawrence and Boccaccio in the past and each summer the town maintains a well balanced program of musical and cultural events.
Why Ravello + Views, gardens, fresh mountain air + Away from the madding crowds + Ravello attracts travellers with a special regard for culture and the arts
