A few kilometres after the bustling centre of Sorrento is the delightful and quaint town of Massa Lubrense, perched on the hills over one of the most beautiful coastlines of Italy, amongst olive groves and thick Mediterranean vegetation. In ancient Roman times, this stretch of peninsula used to be the retreat of notable patricians, who built magnificent maritime villas, the remains of one of them are still visible nearby this property.

Description

Villa del Mare is one of the very few villas in this area with private sea frontage and seawater swimming pool (10 x 6 mt). The villa is built over four levels, with two intercommunicating and independent units (Primo Piano and Attico ), one occupying the lowest two levels and part of the third level, and the other occupying the rest of the third and fourth levels. The villa can be rented as a whole or as separate apartments, for smaller groups.

At levels one, two and four, the villa opens onto spacious terraces, equipped with outdoor furniture, whilst at level three it opens out to several balconies. All have magnificent views over the sea and expansive views of the bay of Naples, the islands of Capri, Procida and Ischia; and Mount Vesuvius in the background. A separate area of the garden is equipped with a wood oven and barbecue

The swimming pool is set in a terrace just above the sea, ideal for sun-set cocktails, while the sea access is 100 steps down from the house entrance. The terraces around the pool are directly above the sea and are unfenced, thereby representing a safety issue for children (and drinking adults!) who must be supervised at all times.

Local farmers (contadini) with their three wheeled Ape Utes tend the olive plantations that string along the rocky hillsides and every now and again the bushes open up to the stretches of blue sea and sights of Capri and the other islands in the Bay of Naples.> more

Refundable security deposit

A refundable security deposit of € 800.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras.

Additional services and charges - payable locally on arrival (in Euros):

• Mandatory cleaning fees: € 350.00 per week including maid service of 4 hours twice mid week, cleaning on Saturdays and on departure;
• One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €12.00 per change per person;
• Late arrival fees – we will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;
• Electricity: is not included and will be metered and charged at €0.40 per kw;
• Heating: (per week if required) - according to energy consumption.
