Situated approximately 14 km from Sorrento, the Nerano locality is a primarily agricultural/fishing community which in bygone centuries had little to do with its neighbouring areas. Blessed by a pleasant climate, wonderful outlook and steep sun drenched descent towards the sea it was the enclave of a small number of families who handed down their interests from generation to generation. Even today it is possible to recognise a strong concentration of the family surnames.
About NeranoThe town of Nerano lies at about 200 mts above sea level under the peak of Monte san Costanzo. Antique paved walking tracks lead directly down to the beach of Marina del Cantone below where there is a lively fishing village, a delightful swimming beach and a good choices of restaurants and trattorias. The beach is lit and is a beautiful place for a late afternoon stroll and meal. Nerano is also the starting point for a walk into the Jeranto Bay national park. The final destination is a delightful little cove with crystal clear waters and spectacular views of the large bay and its characteristic flora.
