Description Castle Belvedere dates back to the middle of the 18th century when it was the private home of one of the Rosmini family. Situated on a hilltop and surrounded by 50,000 sqm of parkland, the property enjoys uninterrupted views over the Lake and mountains behind and also of nearby Desenzano del Garda (1km). The castle and adjoining apartments are surrounded by well tended lawns and gardens offering places to relax under the shade of large cypress, palm and olive trees. A large 'infinity' swimming pool of unusual shape (appr. 20x7m + childrens pool) is set on a lower terrace in a panoramic position overlooking the lake and has a large, well furnished sun deck and lawns with shady trees for those who prefer to 'spread out'. The accommodation at Castle Belvedere is comprised of 27 one and two bedroom apartments, accommodating from two to six people (all are equipped with a divan bed). Twenty five of the apartments have wonderful lake views and 17 have terraces or balconies furnished for al fresco dining. The apartments are comfortably arranged around a large central garden courtyard and are well spaced out. Comfortably furnished in warm colours, each apartment is airconditioned, heated and has a fully equipped kitchen. The town of Desenzano is a short walk away (10 mins), as is the beach for those who prefer a dip in the lake. Ferries departing regularly from Desenzano stop at all towns up the lake and particularly Sirmione, an unusual town, situated on a narrow peninsula jutting almost two kilometres out into the lake with Italy's largest thermal spring. Desenzano is lively year round being a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The centre of town is mostly closed to traffic and provides a good selection of street cafes and restaurants with festivals and carnivals throughout the year.
LocationThe residence is located to the west of Desenzano at approximately 1.5 km from the centre. The lake is accessible at Desenzanino beach, approximately 800 mt where hire padalos and yachts are available. Key distances are as follows: - Motorway entrance (Desenzano) 3.5klm

This locality
Lake Garda, whose waters are famed for their transparency, is the largest in Italy and was much loved by Virgil, Catullus and Goethe. The town of Desenzano is the largest and liveliest in the south of Lake Garda; its central picturesque piazza is situated on a cobbled pedestrian walk that winds its way around the contour of the lake, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience the daily passeggiata and inspiring views up the lake. Conveniently close to the main motorway and railway that connects Milan and Venice, it is a great base from which to explore the North of Italy. > more
