Casa La Baia
Liguria - Cinque Terre - Levanto |
|
To arrive at Casa la Baia it is necessary to walk 300m along the beachside promenade from the centre of the small hamlet of Levanto and up about 30 steps to the front gate. Once inside there is a beautiful lawn and garden with large shady trees overlooking some of the world’s most beautiful coastline and the lovely sandy beach just below.
A garden path leads onto a large covered portico with outdoor table, rattan divan and armchairs ... it doesn’t get much better than this.
Features- Proximity to beach and city centre
- Lovely panoramic garden
DescriptionThe inside of the apartment is quite a letdown in respect to the external spaces. Fortunately it is only necessary to sleep there and most of the living is done outside. The entrance leads from the portico into a sparsely furnished living room with a daybed, small table and chairs. Off to one side is the outdated kitchen which is basically clean and equipped with dishwasher, cooktop, oven and fridge. A corridor leads to two double bedrooms one of which opens out to the portico; the other one has windows that open out onto the portico. At the end of the corridor is a bathroom (shower only) with washing machine. It’s a great location and perfect for a summer holiday between excursions to the nearby Cinque Terra (1 ferry stop) and enjoying the sparkling Ligurian seaside with white sandy beaches at 50m.

Monterosso is the first official village of the Cinque Terra from the northern end. More open than the other villages, it features a lovely beach and the town is split in two by a prominant headland through which passes a pedestrian tunnel. > more
The second of the Cinque Terra towns from the northern end (between Monterosso and Corniglia), Vernazza is probably recognised as the prettiest of the 5 villages. The small fishing port is protected by a tallish headland and has the benefit of a small but lovely sandy beach, overlooked by the main piazza, and the colourful buildings cascading down the hills surrounding it. > more
