Casa Santuario
Liguria - Cinque Terre - Levanto |
|
Located 4km from the centre of Levanto and 3km from the train station (1 stop - 5 mins to Monterosso on the Cinque Terra), Casa Santuario was once a mill and is located in a secluded and forested river valley away from every possible disturbance. Far from luxurious, the cottage is a homely base for exploring the Cinque Terra when not relaxing by the secluded pool or around the barbecue area covered by a shaded pergola and with the sounds of the bubbling stream.
Representing outstanding value for money it is basic accommodation in million dollar surroundings with air-conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine and two bathrooms.
Features- Secluded and quiet location
- Private pool
DescriptionLeaving the town of Levanto behind, a quiet road winds gently up for 3km to the entrance of Casa Santuario. 30mt of vine covered pergola surrounded by farmland leads up to the front door of the ex stonemill which has been converted into a comfortable cottage. Entering on the ground floor there are two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom (shower). Stairs lead up to a large open living room with fireplace, several divans, a dining table and balcony. Towards the rear there is a further double bedroom overlooking the stream with a further bathroom (shower). A door leads from the living room to a kitchen with dishwasher and through to a rear sunroom with table and chairs. The sunroom exits to the back garden and a large paved area with shady vine covered pergola with table and a walk down to the bubbling mountain stream that passes by. The stream’s beautiful music has an incredibly relaxing effect and the area is surrounded by trees and quietness. A few steps lead up to the swimming pool area where there are sunbeds. We reiterate that this is not a luxury villa, but perfect for groups who are seeking basic accommodation in an awesome position.

The second of the Cinque Terra towns from the northern end (between Monterosso and Corniglia), Vernazza is probably recognised as the prettiest of the 5 villages. The small fishing port is protected by a tallish headland and has the benefit of a small but lovely sandy beach, overlooked by the main piazza, and the colourful buildings cascading down the hills surrounding it. > more
Manarola is the second village from the south and lies between Riomaggiore and Corniglia. A flat pedestrian walk leads from the station to the principal piazza that leads up to the centre of town along a sunken riverbed and down to the port area where the 'strada di amore' (walk of love) arrives from Riomaggiore. In the Cinque Terra it is hard to find modern, clean and accessible accommodation, however here in Manarola we have managed to find some wonderful solutions. > more
