More about Eastern Sicily The eastern coast of Sicily is dominated by Mount Etna located on the mid east coast behind Catania. As one of the world's largest active volcanoes, it dominates the skyline from the north to the south of the east coast and makes a wonderful backdrop for photos taken from Taormina in the north to Ragusa in the south of the east coast.
