Villa Chianti is a wonderfully private air conditioned villa with swimming pool and sauna hidden in the Chianti hills near Gaiole in Chianti. The villa is surrounded by lush forest and vineyards and only one other villa is visible on a distant hill. At 300m from the villa's gates, and hidden from view is a small antique hamlet that is now used for holiday rentals. The restaurant and sporting facilities (tennis, archery, fishing, pool) are available for use by the Villa's guests.

Description

The villa is located approximately 4km from the typical Chianti village of Gaiole and double steel gates separate the driveway from the nearby borgo (hamlet). The driveway leads to the back of the villa and a paved pathway leads to the pool terrace and main doors of the villa. The views from the pool area are stunning and there is plenty of space in the solarium and lawn area to relax. An outdoor pergola provides a shaded area for dining around the pool and there is a sauna room and service bathroom that opens onto the terrace.

Large arched glass doors lead into a spacious and luminous living area with terracotta floors and large arched picture windows. To the left is a sitting room area which has several brightly colours sofas providing ample seating for 8 people whilst to the right is an alcove area adjacent to the kitchen with a large wooden dining table that comfortably seats 10 people. The kitchen is well appointed with marble benchtops and modern appliances (see technical description).
Also on the ground floor there is a television room with open fireplace and two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. One of the bedrooms, a double, opens off the TV room and has a bathroom with shower and a lovely rural view. The other twin bedroom opens off the kitchen and also has an en-suite bathroom with shower, but no views as the windows are high up.

From the living area, terracotta stairs lead up to a landing on the first floor that opens onto a huge terrace that winds around two sides of the villa. A large solid pergola provides shade for a table and six chairs in a panoramic part of the terrace.  There is a spacious double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (showera) that also has direct access to the terrace. The stairs continue up to the second floor where the master bedroom is located with a large en-suite bathroom comprising whirlpool tub with handheld shower, double sinks and breathtaking views.

The owners have gone to great efforts to retain the beautiful features of the original villa including exposed timber beams, terracotta ceilings and floors and beautifully harmonised furniture whilst incorporating modern facilities including air conditioning, wireless internet access, satellite TV, sauna and heated swimming pool. There is a telephone linking to the reception of the hamlet and services can be ordered in.

Villa Chianti is located 4km up a quiet road from Gaiole in Chianti. The last 1.5km of the road is unpaved, but in good condition (not for sports cars). The driveway to the villa starts at the hamlet and opens through steel gates.

Refundable security deposit

A refundable security deposit of €500 is payable on arrival at the villa. The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras.

Additional services and charges - payable locally on arrival (in Euros):

• Final cleaning costs are included in the villa rental amount. Included is maid service with a change of towels on Wednesday and additional mid week cleaning may be requested but will be charged as an extra (€20 per hour);
• One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €12.00 per change per person;
• Swimming pool towels are not included but may be rented for €5 per week;
• Utilities costs, including heating and air-conditioning are included in the villa rental price;
• Late arrivals can usually be accommodated but must be advised in advance.  

Other information

• The season for pool opening is - May to September ;
• Baby sitting services can usually be organised locally by the area manager;
• Boats and bikes hire, food hampers, cooking and many other services mentioned on our booking form can be pre-arranged and prices will be provided on application.
