Situated in central Chianti, half way between Florence and Siena and surrounded by classic Tuscan countryside consisting of flowing vineyards and lush forests, Villa Dante has its origins as the noble residence of a small borgo of houses dating from the 10th century and was afterwards restyled in the Medici style. Recently renovated to high standards of guest comfort and enjoying expansive front and back gardens and a beautiful swimming pool, it is a beautiful location for a Tuscan rental holiday.

Description Villa Dante was part of an ancient little village that stood on top of a hill in the heart of Chianti region. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and woods on the junction of the Elsa and Pesa valleys, the villa has a private entrance beautifully maintained garden and large figure 8 swimming pool. The villa features antique pieces of furniture, large stone fireplaces, ancient paintings and has been sensitively restored add modern amenities and comforts required by todays travellers. Entrance gates provide access to the front garden with its box hedges and stunning sculptures. A large vine covered pergola gives promise of open air dinners in the fresh evening breeze and double doors provide entrance into a large salon and through to a spacious and functional kitchen, dining room with fireplace, a reading room (with TV) and through to a double bedroom and bathroom. Stairs lead from the living room up to the first floor where there are two double bedrooms each with bath, and two twin bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Two of the bedrooms give access to a narrow terrace with beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside which runs almost the entire length of the Villa. Air-conditioning has recently been installed in the villa for summer comfort. A door leads out to a large back garden with a lush array of trees and plants, a large swimming pool with furnished solarium , BBQ area and botanical greenhouse. A gravel road leads around to the borgo that has now been renovated into rental apartments and a B&B. The original church with its large bell tower is often open for inspection. In the nearby area, a large variety of villages, vineyards and picturesque country roads provide unlimited walking, riding or excursion opportunities. Most of the Chianti towns are within a short driving distance.
Position A gravel road leads round from the borgo to the entrance to Villa Dante. There is a parking area for several cars outside the gate or cars may be brought inside. Distances - San Donato - 2 km (shops, general store)

Refundable security deposit Please note that for groups of 14, two additional bedrooms and a bathroom are available on payment of a supplement (€530/€870/€1000). A refundable security deposit of €750 is payable on arrival at the property. The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras. General Information: - Normal arrival times are between 15:30 (3:30pm) and 19:00 (7pm). Departure is by 9:30 on the day of departure.
- The season for pool opening is from mid May to September. Swimming towels are provided;
Services included and extras: - Cleaning - included are mid week cleaning of 4 hours of maid service and final cleaning
- One set of bed and bath linen per week is included. Additional changes may be requested at the cost of €12 per person;
- Additional maid service can be requested at a cost of € 19 per hour
- Electricity and utilities costs are included in weekly rental except for heating, air-conditioning and telephone which are payable locally on the basis of consumption;
- High chairs and cots are available at an additional cost of €50 per week
- Late arrival fees - we will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;
- Baby sitting services can usually be organised locally by the area manager;
- A cooking service is available at a cost of €45 per person

Siena is one of the most beautiful towns of Tuscany and perhaps Italy. Surrounded by olive groves and the vineyards of Chianti the town is set on three hills and is mostly pedenstrian only. At the centre of the town is the large Piazza del Campo, noted for the Palio horse race held each July and August and full of activity year round. An important university town, Siena has wonderful outdoor cafes, piazzas, churches and museums.> more
