Technical Description

Villa Daina: Villa of 400 sqm in 1000 ha of private forest

The entrance to rental villa Daina is off a main road through electric gates. A manned gatehouse protects the property. An unmade road of 3.5 km winds its way along a small stream through forests to arrive at the villa. Frequently wildlife can be spotted along the track ie deer, boar, pheasants etc. Below the villa (50m) is a large carpark for 10 cars and an adjacent gravel helipad. Below the carpark is a large spring fed lake measuring approximately 400m x 200m with a floating pontoon furnished for swimming and sunbathing. The property is completely private covering all of the surrounding hills.

The villa, once a Benedictine monastery is build on three sides around a good sized courtyard. The fourth side is made up of the church. A set of wooden doors provides access into a 20m portico which leads through to the inner courtyard. The main entrance to the villa is on the right from the portico, whilst five stairs on the left lead upt to a small suite comprising two twin bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms.

The formal entrance on the right leads into broad corridor with large windows looking over the internal courtyard. On the right is a large living room with divans, sat TV, DVD and stereo which lead into a further large living room with fireplace. Both rooms are luminous and look over the front external courtyard and surrounding hills.

Further along the corridor a staircase leads up from the left to the upstairs sleeping quarters. At the end of the corridor, a door leads into the formal dining room with open fireplace, magnificent woven rugs and a large dining table which can be extended to seat 20 guests. Doors lead off to a store room with service bathroom and left along the second side of the villa containing a second informal dining room with large fireplace equipped for open grills. A door leads through to the kitchen which is equipped with dishwashwers, two stoves and ovens, refrigerator, meat slicer, numerous coffee machines (Italian and American) and a large stock of pots, pans and croquery.

A door leads from the kitchen into the internal courtyard where a large table is setup under an umbrella for outside dining. An antique well is in the middle of the courtyard and the walls are adorned with flowing geranium vases.

The first floor of the villa, reached from a stairwell in the main corridor opens up into a further large corridor furnished with chaise longe and rich tapestry carpets. Opening from the corridor are two double bedrooms, three twin bedrooms and a single bedroom, all with ensuite bathrooms. Five of the ensuite bathrooms have a bathtub with integrated shower and three have only a bathtub.

Facilities: heating, large lake for swimming, dishwasher, microwave, two - 4 burner cooktops, 2 ovens, washing machine, telephone, satellite TV, video, DVD, iron, hairdryer in each bathroom, barbecue.
