Situated in open and hilly countryside at just 13 kilometres from Florence, Villa Florentina is a quintessential Tuscan villa, with a classic Florentine facade, set in magnificent grounds on top of one of the hills near Florence. An avenue of cypress and olive trees leads all the way to the villa, opening up to beautifully landscaped gardens, punctuated by lemon trees nestled in attractive terracotta vases. In the immediate proximity are two old hamlets which can be reached on foot, and in both hamlets there is a restaurant. The closest town is Lastra a Signa, with all shopping facilities and frequent bus services to Florence.

DescriptionVilla Florentina has been elegantly designed and furnished; the owner has personally directed the restoration of the house and her impeccable taste in colour and fabrics is seen throughout. Use of soft 'Siena yellow' or orange, green and red adds to the luminosity of the first floor furnishings, and stands out from the wood beamed ceilings, brickwork, and wood and cotto floors. The villa is divided into two separate apartments; the ground floor is home to the owners, while the upper floor is for the guests, with four bedroom accommodation. Extra accommodation for four is provided in the guest cottage of the villa, La Limonera (separate listing). A private gazebo is in the garden for guest use, equipped with tables and chairs for al fresco eating and relaxing. Guests have access to a swimming pool (6 by 12 metres, 1.2 to 1.9 metres deep) well hidden in the grounds of the villa. This pool is just 30 metres away, and is shared with guests of La Limonera.

Refundable security depositA refundable security deposit of € 500.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras. Additional services and charges - payable locally on arrival (in Euros):- Cleaning fees including change on Saturdays and on departure are included;
- One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €6.00 per change per person;
- Late arrival fees. We will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;

Nearby localities
Siena is one of the most beautiful towns of Tuscany and perhaps Italy. Surrounded by olive groves and the vineyards of Chianti the town is set on three hills and is mostly pedenstrian only. At the centre of the town is the large Piazza del Campo, noted for the Palio horse race held each July and August and full of activity year round. An important university town, Siena has wonderful outdoor cafes, piazzas, churches and museums.> more
