An old farmhouse comprising two independent and intercommunicating apartments with swimming pool surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and situated in the charming old village of Palazzone, in the southern province of Siena. The price is for the complete villa with exclusive use of the pool. Palazzone is an important wine making area, noted for its young Chianti wine and is part of the Comune di San Casciano dei Bagni, a nearby spa town renowned for its therapeutic water since Roman times. Il Cellaio is completely built of local stone and is set in a park of secular trees, with an avenue of cypress trees leading up to it, in the best Tuscan style. Part of the farmhouse is still used for the main activity of the farm, wine production, and the beautiful wine cellars are located below the farmhouse.

DescriptionThe apartments, split between the ground and first floors can be made into one large apartment via the communicating door from the kitchen of the ground floor apartment, from which an internal staircase leads up to the first floor. The restoration has been carried out with great care, not only in the choice of materials but also in preserving the original features. Even the colour of the rooms are that of a traditional Tuscan villa. Tastefully furnished with central heating, there is also a lift for the disabled to reach both apartments. This locality
Palazzone is a small characteristic Tuscan village in the hills below San Casciano dei Bagni. A tiny centre with just two cafes, bars, some well stocked general stores, post and some excellent local wine cellars, it has everything one could wish for on a self-catering holiday. The village is practically closed to traffic being a medieval town with very narrow roads. As a result the central piazza is a lively place for locals to meet for a coffee and converse. The local area has sport fields, tennis courts and some lovely country walks. Special Notes for Il Cellaio, Tuscany, Palazzone, ItalyPlease refer to our Terms and Conditions in respect to additional charges and extras applicable to rental villas and apartment accommodation. Refundable security depositA refundable security deposit of € 500.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras. Additional services and charges - payable locally on arrival (in Euros):- Final and midweek cleaning fees of €90 per week are additional and payable on arrival at the villa;
- One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €12.00 per change per person;
- Late arrival fees. We will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;
- Electricity costs are included in the villa rental price;
- Heating (per week if required) - according to use of gas or electricity.
Other information- The season for pool opening is mid May to the last Saturday in September;
- Swimming pools are provided at the villa
- Baby sitting services can usually be organised locally by the area manager;
- Boats and bikes hire, food hampers, cooking and many other services mentioned on our booking form can be pre-arranged and prices will be provided on application.

San Casciano dei Bagni is a lovely small village and thermal spa area in the hills of the Chiana valley. The picturesque village is surrounded by typically tuscan landscape - rolling hills, olive groves and lovely pencil cypress trees. At 580m of altitude the summer climate is most pleasant and the vegetation around the town is rich as a result of the thermal springs (37° - 42°C).> more
Celle sul Rigo is a panoramic hilltop village in Southern Tuscany with great views over Mount Amiata, Radicofani and the rolling hills towards the Val d'Orcia. You'll not find much tourism at Celle, it is a small, pleasant, characteristic Tuscan village with a friendly local population, a nice selection of bars, trattorias and general stores, and a lively piazza with great views over the Chiana valley. > more
