Occupying the 'piano nobile' (nobles floor) of a palazzo on the Grand Canal, Apartment Samuele offers extremely comfortable accommodation in a convenient position. From the entrance into the Palazzo with large private gardens, corridors furnished with antiques from Venices great past and the polished Venetian floors leading up to the private stairs that lead up to apartment Samuele.

Within the apartment comfortable furnishings with delightful fabrics go hand in hand with wonderful chandeliers that by day sparkle from the light flooding in through large windows overlooking the sculptured garden. The two twin (or double) bedrooms have luxuriously wide single beds (120cm) whilst the master bedroom is a suite in itself.

Description

Apartment Samuele is situated on the first floor of a typical Venetian palace which faces the Grand Canal in front of Palazzo Grassi. The apartment does not have views over the canal, instead looking over the large sculptured garden of the palazzo. The entrance door leads directly into a very luminous 'L' shaped dining and living room with three panoramic windows overlooking the garden and a further window overlooking the entrance. A large chandelier suspended from the high ceiling over the dining table (places for 8) creates wonderful patterns when lit or when the rays of the sun illuminate it. In the lounge room, a large four seater divan and three comfortable lounge chairs provide a quiet place to relax amongst various antiques including a writing desk.

A small corridor leads through to the large master bedroom with walk in robe and a large loft area containing a desk and with a small stairs to reach it. Just outside the bedroom is a bathroom with spa bath and 'telephone' shower. A further corridor leading off the dining room leads to the kitchen (4 burner cook top, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator and freezer, washing machine) which also has a small breakfast table. Further down the corridor are two lovely bedrooms that can be either twin or double rooms. One of the rooms is fitted with extra wide single beds (120cm) whilst the other has standard single beds. (90cm). The second bathroom opens off the corridor and has a shower (no bath).

Position

The entrance from the street leads into a large entrance foyer with porter with large windows looking over an internal garden. An 'L' shaped corridor leads down to a large reception room from which stairs ascend to the entrance of Apartment Samuele.

Refundable security deposit

A refundable security deposit of €650.00 is payable on arrival at the property (credit card authorisation). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras.

General Information:

Normal arrival times are between 15:00 (3:00pm) and 19:30 (7:30 pm). Departure is by 10:00 on the day of departure. You will be met at the closest boat (Vaporetto) stop, unless you arrange a transfer in which event you will be met at the closest point to the apartment (please apply for water taxi prices)

Services included and extras:

• Final cleaning fees of €105.00 are not included in weekly rental and are payable locally.
• The consumption of electricity, gas and water is included in the apartment rental price
• Heating and air-conditioning use are included in weekly apartment rental prices
• Late arrival fees - we will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking (usually €55 to 23:00 and €70 thereafter). Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 70.00 payable to the local manager;
• Baby cots can be requested and a supplement of €70 per stay is payable on arrival. Please note that linen is not provided for cots. Baby sitting services can usually be organised locally by the area manager.
• Amongst our staff, we have some excellent cooks who are available to prepare home cooked meals in your apartment incorporating typical Venetian dishes. Costs are based on time and ingredients - please apply.

The most popular destination of travellers to Venice is the Piazza San Marco, at the end of the grand canal and featuring the wonderful Basilica San Marco with its golden mosaics and interiors. The area is surrounded by colourful lanes, tiny canals and shops by all the major brands.> more

Santa Croce

Conveniente to the transport terminals, the Santa Croce area is considered too quiet or removed by many tourists. True it is 20 minutes or so to walk to San Marco with its thronging crowds, but this is where many Venetians have their homes, amongst the lovely piazzas and parks or along the canals that wind their way between them. Many guidebooks will recommend this area to discover small trattorias with local cuisine or to mingle with the locals for an evening aperitivo.> more
